Hundreds of people and their dogs showed up to support the opening of the dog park on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Many thanks to those who came out and to all the businesses that donated their time and money to help make the event a huge success.

Below is the construction estimate for the Logan Square Dog Park. The costs associated with the completion of the park have been provided by the Chicago Park District.

After four public meetings, the Chicago Park District unveiled the design for the new Logan Square Dog Park!  As soon as the funds are in place, we are ready to make this park a reality!

The site was originally conceived as a dog park as part of the Logan Square Open Space Plan by the City of Chicago and designers Skidmore Owings & Merrill.  The plan is available here.   The dog park was recommended as part of the Logan Gateway Park.  The graphics below show the initial concept for the park that were presented with the open space plan, however, the final design will be developed by the park district in a dialogue with the community in open public meetings, after the fundraising obligations of the group have been fulfilled.

Fence Goes In!

Thanks to Alderman Rey Colon, the Chicago Park District, and the efforts of all of our community volunteers, a new fence is in the process of being installed at the future dog park site!  This is just the first step in what we all expect to become one of the premier dog parks in the city of Chicago!

The news has some dogs jumping for joy!
